PROJECT TITLE

Koiyaki

Project Introduction

Yoshida Kogyo Co., Ltd. is working on the SDGs, and through this project, we are trying to express sustainable manufacturing. The Koiyaki Project, which was launched in 2023, aims to deliver thoughts and deliciousness through food to local residents and tourists, along with the “Saku carp” that represents Saku City, using our manufacturing technologies such as aluminum casting and precision cutting to create “baking molds”.

What is Koiyaki?

Koiyaki is a baked confectionery made in a mold with a motif of Saku carp and Goryokaku.
And this koiyaki is filled with important thoughts.
A pentagonal KOIYAKI inspired by Goryokaku in Saku City.
The pentagon represents the five elements that make up all things, is considered a very auspicious shape, and has the meaning of omnipotence and fulfillment. It was made in the hope that the thoughts of the person eating it would come true.

Baked koiyaki and mold

So far, we have worked on everything from concept design to carp design, mold production, and tasting events.
From 2024, we will be setting up a stall at local events in Saku City using a kitchen car.

Sales from a kitchen car

We started selling from a kitchen car at Saku City in October 2024. Many people were able to try it.
The coating on the baking mold allows us to serve healthy koi without using oil.

As this koiyaki culture spreads throughout the city and we start using local agricultural and specialty products, it will become a recycling-oriented business that also includes molds and ingredients. We will continue our activities in the hope that things will grow into sustainable “experiences.”
